Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will carry out the probe.
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has started a probe into the leakage of confidential government documents, Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa said on his Twitter account.
“Aside from a police report, all secretaries-general and heads of service have been instructed to ensure that classified documents will not be compromised,” he said.
NST Online said the Twitter posting was believed to be linked to reports of a classified list on changes to several government agencies as well as government-linked companies (GLCs).
It said a news portal reported that three GLCs — Khazanah Nasional Bhd, Petronas and Permodalan Nasional Bhd — would be placed under the Prime Minister’s Department.
Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) was placed under several ministries, including its business arm, which will be parked under the economic affairs ministry; Mara’s Giatmara under the entrepreneur development ministry and its education division under the education ministry.
To date, no ministries have confirmed the validity of the list. - FMT
