DAP, please do not ignite an implosion

The appointments of the new cabinet ministers and deputy ministers have ignited sledgehammering by some DAP individuals.
Their public expression of dissatisfaction with Dr Mahathir Mohamad's line-up is not going to water down well in this new chapter of Malaysia's newfound liberation from the clenches of Umno.
Instead, it clearly provides ammunition to the fallen Barisan Nasional.
Do not be surprised if the opponents of Pakatan Harapan rally support for their "we told you so" battle preparations.
Whether you are chosen as a cabinet minister or otherwise, DAP must respect the sentiments across the bandwidth of Malaysia's newfound freedom on the illusory route of democracy.
If you are not satisfied and feel short-changed, it still does not justify your public weeping.
In doing so, you are also sowing animosity among the coalition members of Harapan.
All said and done, rightly or wrongly whether you are handpicked or your party suggestions are derailed, the bottom line is the courage, conviction and willingness to accept outcomes for the good of a larger picture.
The Big Picture is stability for Harapan. Let us accept the truth. No one party on its own could have won the general election to form the government.
Each party - Bersatu, Amanda, DAP and Keadilan - all of them together won because of the spirit of consolidation. And the people cast their vote of confidence to Harapan.
And now, if you cannot fall behind the decisions of the prime minister, then you should have stayed an independent at the general election or ensured your party did not carry the Harapan flag into the election.
I hope this will be the last of the high school punches in public. Protecting the newly knitted coalition for the sake of national progress is far more vital than who gets to be a minister and why or why not. -Mkini
