Don’t make extreme jokes, Kelantan police tell students

This follows a video of a student apparently chained to a pole which went viral before it was discovered to be a joke.
Police say it could cause public anxiety if video clips of extreme jokes go viral on social media.
KOTA BHARU: Kelantan police have advised students against making extreme jokes and recording them as this could cause public anxiety if the videos go viral on social media.
Kelantan police chief Hasanuddin Hassan gave the example of a clip that went viral on Monday, reportedly showing a student chained to a pole.
“Even if it is a joke, it is quite extreme. The student should not have done so as the wrong steps taken could bring about injuries and so on,” he told reporters at the Kelantan police headquarters here yesterday.
Hasanuddin said the police had been verbally informed of the incident, believed to have taken place at Kampung Penambang here. No report has been received, he added.
He said initial investigations showed that there were no criminal elements, and that the act had been a joke.
“The video went viral, causing the public to believe that the student concerned was being bullied by other students in the video.” -FMT
