Thirteen ministers, including Syed Saddiq, Yeo sworn in


Bersatu's Muar MP Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman and DAP's Bakri MP Yeo Bee Yin were among the 13 new ministers sworn in at Istana Negara today.
The 26-year-old Syed Saddiq has been appointed as Youth and Sports minister while 35-year-old Yeo is the new Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environment Minister.
PKR got the biggest share with four new ministers while Bersatu, DAP and Amanah all got two new ministers each.
PKR's new ministers are Saifuddin Abdullah (Foreign), Saifuddin Nasution (Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs) , Dr Xavier Kumar (Water, Land and Natural Resources) and Baru Bian (Works).
Baru is the only minister from Sarawak while Sabah was allocated three new ministers.
Liew Vui Keong from Warisan was appointed as the new minister in the Prime Minister's Department for the law affairs portfolio.
The other Warisan ministers are Darell Leiking (International Trade and Industry) and Mohamed Din Ketapi (Tourism, Arts and Culture).
Beside Yeoh, DAP's Teresa Kok was appointed as the Primary Industries Minister.
Amanah's Khalid Samad is the new Federal Territories Minister while his colleague Mujahid Yusof is appointed as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department entrusted with religious affairs.
Notable exceptions from the new cabinet list Perak DAP chairperson Nga Kor Ming and Pakatan Harapan Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.
The 13 ministers sworn in today bring to 26 the total number of ministers in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The 13 ministers earlier appointed were sworn in on May 21.
Today’s swearing-in took place at the Balairong Seri (Throne Room) and was witnessed by Mahathir and his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
According to Bernama, the ministers and deputy ministers also signed the oath of office and loyalty and the instrument of appointment, witnessed by the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Richard Malanjum, who represented the Chief Justice, and the Chief Secretary to the Government, Ali Hamsa.
