Zakir Naik Leaving For India Today?

New Delhi: big victory for India, controversial Zakir Naik sent back from M'sia
Naik accused of  hate speeches, laundering money, financing terror
National Investigation Authority in 2017 filed criminal case against him
NIA has confirmed Naik's extradition

NDTV quoted top M'sian police officer : Zakir "taking flight to India today"
court in Mumbai declared Naik "proclaimed offender"
Nov 2016 NIA registered criminal case against Naik
declared Mumbai-based IRF "unlawful association"

Naik left India in 2016
M'sia granted PR to Naik, founder of IRF

Here is FMT on the matter :

Zakir Naik from India, being deported today Indian media reported
Indian media reported Naik “will be taking a flight to India today”

My comments :  Indonesia has assisted us in arresting Ikan Bakar.
Now arrangements are being made to have Ikan Bakar sent back to Malaysia.

Here is the announcement from the Ministry of Home Affairs:

Our Ministry of Home Affairs has thanked the Indonesians for their help in arresting Ikan Bakar.

This is good cooperation among neighbours to prevent criminals, dangerous elements and other undesirables from finding easy refuge in each others' countries.
  • We are very happy Indonesia did not grant Ikan Bakar PR status.
  • Or make it difficult for us to have Ikan Bakar sent back to Malaysia.
  • Imagine if Indonesia says "Ikan Bakar now has PR in Indonesia. We will not send him back to Malaysia".
  • It will also sour our relations with Indonesia. Over what? Ikan Bakar?

In 2012 the kleptocratic regime of Najib Razak also assisted Saudi Arabia by deporting a 23 year old Saudi boy who made some remarks in his Twitter account.  Although the remarks were made by the young boy on Twitter,  the Saudis said he was a "journalist".

Msia deported Saudi journalist accused of insulting prophet on Twitter
face the death penalty in Saudi Arabia
Hamza Kashgari, 23, tweeted doubts about prophet
he fled to M'sia, detained at KLIA while trying to leave
Mian police handed him over to Saudi officials, flown back
flight arrangements handled by Saudi authorities

Malaysia and Saudi do not share formal extradition treaty
deportation due to common agreement

So although there was no formal extradition treaty between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia but because we are such good neighbours, and there is some form of "common agreement",  Malaysia was able to send that naughty Saudi boy back to Saudi Arabia.

It is possible that since then the boy's head has been chopped off by the Saudis.
The boy would be 29 years old today - if he still has his head on his shoulders.

  • The point is we did not question the Saudis when they asked that the 23 year old boy be sent back.
  • Neither did the Indonesians question us when we asked that Ikan Bakar be sent back.
  • Now India has asked that Zakir Naik be sent back.
  • There is no need for us to question India either.
As a sovereign nation and the world's largest democracy they have their laws and procedures and their reasons why they want Zakir Naik sent back.

It is also high time for Malaysia to stop providing refuge for the undesirable elements from other countries. We should really stop becoming the trash bin (tong sampah) for all the world's undesirables.
