KUALA LUMPUR: The nation’s top cop today urged Malaysians to refrain from speculating on the political uncertainty that has hit the country following Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s resignation earlier today.
Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador also called for calm.
“I would like the politicians and supporters to remain patient. The democratic process is going on smoothly.
“Carry on as normal,” he told reporters when met outside Istana Negara this evening.
Hamid also said that action would be taken against those who spread fake news that could disrupt public order.
