A PKR member claims he was dismissed as Malacca PKR communications director for exposing a "Pakatan Nasional" plot that was being pursued by several PKR and Bersatu leaders at the state level.
G Rajendran (above) said this morning that he received a letter terminating his appointment as Malacca PKR communications director which was signed by the party's state chief Halim Bachik.
"Strangely, the letter which was dated Feb 17 informed me that the Malacca PKR political bureau had decided on Feb 13 to terminate my appointment. However, I was allowed to attend the monthly state leadership council meeting on Feb 14 in that capacity," he said when contacted by Malaysiakini.
Rajendran questioned why he was not informed of the termination at the meeting. He has held the post since party elections in Dec 2018.
He claimed he was also removed from the state's leadership council's WhatsApp group on Feb 17 after making a media statement about efforts by PKR and Bersatu leaders to join Umno to oust Chief Minister Adly Zahari.
"I did not say the state PKR state chairperson or state leadership council was involved. I just said in my personal capacity that some PKR leaders were involved."
For the record, Rajendran, on Feb 17, told Malaysiakini that several PKR and Bersatu leaders in Malacca were holding talks on forming a new state government together with Umno.
“I can confirm there have been discussions to replace Adly with a state executive council member.
“I have also heard there have been talks with Umno to form a new state government known as Pakatan Nasional,” he said.
The allegations were made amid allegations that Umno, PAS and some PKR leaders were seeking parliamentary support to form a new government and retain Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad through the entire five-year term.
"I challenge all 13 Harapan assemblypersons (excluding the Gadek assemblyperson in Sosma detention) in particular the PKR and Bersatu reps in Malacca to make a statutory declaration expressing their support for Adly (above) to remain as chief minister for his full term," added Rajendran.
In the Malacca State Legislative Assembly, Harapan has a narrow majority with 15 state seats compared to 13 held by BN.
Of the 15 state seats held by Harapan, eight were won by DAP, three each by PKR and Amanah while Bersatu won two state seats in the last GE14.
All BN seats in Malacca belong to Umno.
Since Feb 17, Malaysiakini's attempts to contact Adly, two ex-PKR leaders and a Bersatu exco have not been successful. - Mkini
