The American Embassy here in KL has released the following statement, obviously in response to Dr Mahathir's call that President Trump should resign:
Well its a tad unfair for the US Embassy to say such things about Dr Mahathir.
He is 94 years old (officially). Give him a break ok. He tends to be increasingly cranky. Though not as creaky.
He is seeing his life's work - the Malays - not turning out as he wished.
In the evening of his life he is seeing that all if not most of his policies have not worked. Many have gone quite the other way - they have failed disastrously.
To top it all off he says the Malays are lazy. Not realising that his policies have not made the Malays much better than what they were before.
So he is unhappy and true to his nature he is blaming others for his failures.
Asking Trump to resign is admission of more failure.
The Palestinians are no better off now than say 10 years ago.
All the OIC meetings, all the Islamic meetings have come to be of no use.
Worse now Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and a host of other Arab countries seem to support Donald Trump.
Its just been a bad week for Dr Mahathir.
