Perak Health Dept tracking down woman who breached home quarantine

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | The Perak Health Department is tracking down a woman who is said to have breached the Covid-19 House Surveillance Order.
The woman, who wore a wristband on her right hand which showed that she is a person under surveillance, was seen having a meal at a restaurant at Bandar Meru Raya in the state.
A picture of her breaching the order had circulated on social media.
Perak health director Dr Ding Lay Ming said the state health department had immediately started investigating the matter.
"If it's found to be true, appropriate action would be taken (against the woman)," Ming said in a statement as reported by Astro Awani.
Those who undergo mandatory home quarantine have to remain at home for 14 days and take a second Covid-19 test on the 13th day.
The prime minister's special advisor on public health, Dr Jemilah Mahmood, had also raised concern on the matter, saying that it's people like her who will increase the nation’s risk of a second wave.
"Shame on you miss and shame on your friends or family and the cafe which allowed her in and didn’t report (the incident) when she was supposed to be under quarantine.
"Stricter measures are needed. Covid-19 is still out there," Jemilah tweeted today.
In the latest coronavirus update, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country today recorded 21 new cases, which is the highest in 30 days.
Earlier, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had reminded Malaysians in a televised address not to let their guard down against Covid-19 and warned that the country could go back into lockdown if the situation deteriorates. - Mkini
