PETALING JAYA: Thirty people have been rescued from Gua Tempurung, Perak, after floods blocked off the limestone cave’s exit this evening.
An officer from the Perak fire and rescue department said there were no injuries reported.
“All the victims are safe,” he told FMT.
The officer said the victims were members of a film crew that was shooting inside the cave.
Kampar police chief Nazri Daud told The Star that water levels in the cave began to rise at about 3pm.
He said that the fire and rescue department and a team of policemen were mobilised to the location to help rescue efforts. - FMT
