PETALING JAYA: A majority of Sabah Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders are backing chief minister Hajiji Noor’s leadership, an assemblyman from the party said.
James Ratib said his assertions were based on what he heard at a meeting with Umno representatives, the Daily Express reported.
“I personally believe that he is capable of bringing progress to the state and the people of Sabah.
“In the meeting, I also heard the same views from those present,” the local daily quoted him as saying.
Hajiji is the state’s 16th chief minister.
The Sugut assemblyman also said he was confident that the pact between Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) – the ruling coalition in the state – and BN would be able to woo voters who want political stability.
“We have to create political stability for the future of the state and the people of Sabah.”
James also advised voters against being influenced by cybertroopers who often tried to paint a negative picture of the GRS and BN component parties. - FMT
