KOTA BARU: Pas has finally decided to use the 'moon' logo in two states in the coming 15th General Election (GE15).
The party's secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the 'moon' logo would be used in Kelantan and Terengganu while in Kedah, the other state ruled by the Islamic party, would use the PN logo.
He said the decision was made during Perikatan Nasional (PN)'s presidential council meeting yesterday.
"In our latest decision on the coming election, we decided that only Kelantan and Terengganu will use the moon logo.
"Kedah will use the PN logo like the one that will be used by our candidates in Sabah and Sarawak.
"This was agreed following discussions with our component parties in Kedah as they found that Kedah is different from Terengganu and Kelantan in terms of races.
"In Kedah, there are many non-Malays compared to the two states. Although people in Kedah have accepted the moon logo, they prefer the PN logo," he said.
Takiyuddin spoke to reporters after visiting traders at a wet market in town last night.
During the visit, the incumbent Kota Baru MP also handed over tents, aprons and other equipment to the traders.
He also said PN would introduce its candidates at the national level next week, followed by the state-level later.
"PN is finalising the candidates and they will be announced by the PN chairman.
"At the state-level, it will be done by the respective state chairmen," he added. - NST
