PUTRAJAYA: Bersatu vice-president Radzi Jidin will contest the Putrajaya parliamentary seat in the 15th general election (GE15).
The education minister’s candidacy was announced at a Perikatan Nasional event here.
Former federal territories minister and Umno treasurer-general Tengku Adnan Mansor has held the Putrajaya seat since the 2004 general election, a year after the federal constituency was created.
Radzi contested the Ketereh seat in Kelantan in the 2018 general election and garnered 6,799 votes. Umno’s Annuar Musa won the seat with 25,467 votes after securing a 4,626-vote majority over PAS’ Wan Ismail Wan Jusoh.
