PETALING JAYA: DAP has named Kota Kemuning assemblyman V Ganabatirau as its candidate for the Klang parliamentary seat in the 15th general election (GE15).
This means that former Klang MP Charles Santiago will not get to defend his seat where he has served for three terms.
DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook also announced three other candidates for the Bangi, Puchong and Damansara seats, namely Lim Kit Siang’s political secretary Syahredzan Johan, former Bakri MP Yeo Bee Yin and former Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo respectively.
It was previously reported that Yeo was believed to be leaning “90-10” towards skipping the elections.
In an immediate response, Santiago said he did not intend to stand as an independent candidate following the snub from DAP.
