‘Sharing same pillow, different dreams,' Zahid claims disunity in Harapan, PN

The decision made by component parties in Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional (PN) to use their respective party logos in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15) shows apparent disunity and lack of togetherness, said Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The BN chief, in a statement on Facebook, said the message that is conveyed is evident that they are willing to “share the same pillow in order to seize power, but they have different dreams”.

This, Zahid said, is one of the silent forces that led to the formation of an unstable and messy government.

“In the end, the victims of the instability are the people and the country.

“There is no agreement and togetherness between them, although it’s only on the basic matter of using logos.”

He was referring to Sarawak DAP’s decision to use the rocket logo in the national polls despite other Harapan parties using the coalition’s logo.

He also took a swipe at PAS leaders who wish to use the ‘full moon’ logo in states under its administration although they have pledged allegiance to PN.

“Of course, many people still remember PKR even though the Harapan’s component party used its own logo in the previous (Johor) state election.”

The Umno president said contesting under the same logo is a symbol of cooperation and togetherness among component parties of an alliance.

Therefore, he said, BN will continue to use its iconic white ‘scales’, which have been the symbol of the coalition, in future elections.

“The people should evaluate the differences in making an important decision for Malaysia in GE15.

“Believe that BN is the one and only political party which offers an honest and sincere unity.

“The world has been predicted to face a global economic recession next year.

“Our country needs to be in the strongest and most stable position to face it,” he said. - Mkini
