Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the launch would be among the key agenda items at the bilateral meeting, which Malaysia will host.
"Although the master plan is essentially an operational document, we believe its launch during the meeting between the two leaders will further elevate the JS-SEZ's standing," he said after launching the National Targeted Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Programme at Dataran Penggaram today.
He said ongoing geopolitical uncertainties presented an opportunity for Malaysia to position the JS-SEZ as a preferred investment destination for both domestic and foreign investors.
"The current geopolitical situation remains unstable, and this gives Malaysia an advantage in positioning the JS-SEZ as a preferred destination for investors from within and outside the country," he said.
On a separate matter, Akmal said he and Singapore's National Development Minister Chee Hong Tat would jointly chair the Johor-Singapore Cooperation Ministers' Committee (JSCMC) meeting in Singapore in November, ahead of the master plan's launch.
On July 4, Akmal said the JS-SEZ master plan would be unveiled during the fourth-quarter Malaysia-Singapore Leaders' Retreat.
He said the economic zone secured RM76.98 billion in approved investments in 2025, with 57 per cent of the projects already under implementation.- NST
