Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin has called for the parliamentary debate on the royal commission of inquiry’s report on Tabung Haji scheduled for Aug 11 to be extended by at least two days.
Touting the importance of the pilgrim fund, the former prime minister said that the extension would increase the participation of MPs while enabling them to present better arguments for the betterment of Tabung Haji’s management and performance.
In a statement today, he added that the government has yet to address several aspects of the report, including a forensic audit report on 14 investments that caused Tabung Haji to suffer billions of ringgit in losses.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has launched an investigation into the arrest of a Malaysia Airlines pilot in Indonesia.
CAAM told Bernama that the probe will examine the airline’s compliance with applicable regulations and the airport operator’s security processes to determine whether any lapses had occurred.
It said an immediate step it has taken is the tightening of baggage screening oversight and other security measures, including those affecting flight crew.
This follows reports that the 39-year-old Malaysian pilot was arrested at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on July 29 after Indonesian authorities allegedly found about 25kg of ecstasy, with an estimated value of nearly RM14 million, concealed in his luggage.
The seizure reportedly included more than 70,000 ecstasy pills and 4g of methamphetamine. - Mkini
