PN leaving Negeri Sembilan MB pick to BN, says Hamzah

Parti Wawasan Negara president Hamzah Zainudin says there is no rift between BN and PN in Negeri Sembilan.

Parti Wawasan Negara president Hamzah Zainudin says Perikatan Nasional (PN) has left it to Barisan Nasional (BN) to choose a candidate for the post of Negeri Sembilan menteri besar.

He said this was the agreement among all parties in PN.

“We have informed BN and left the matter to them, and it has the agreement of all parties,” he told reporters at a joint BN-PN ceramah in Seremban.

On July 19, Negeri Sembilan Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias said PN had agreed that BN would nominate the Negeri Sembilan menteri besar if the two coalitions succeeded in forming the state government after the Aug 1 election.

Jalaluddin said BN appreciated the early declaration on the matter by the PN leadership.

A recent crisis in PN saw PAS sever ties with Bersatu in June, although both parties remain part of the coalition.

Bersatu, which claimed it was not involved in discussions on PN’s seat allocation, is contesting 24 seats under its own logo in the Negeri Sembilan election.

PN, meanwhile, reached an understanding with BN under which the coalitions are contesting 11 and 25 seats respectively.

Commenting on claims of disagreements between BN and PN in Negeri Sembilan, Hamzah denied that there was any rift.

“There doesn’t appear to be any quarrel in Negeri Sembilan. Why would we want to fight?

“We don’t wish to quarrel,” he said. - FMT
