He said the task force could comprise various agencies including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the police.
Ismail said the task force would have wider powers to investigate in a more transparent manner to ensure every complaint bears merit, whether for improvement or legal action.
“Investigations will be conducted jointly, comprehensively and openly, to avoid wasting time and allow stern action to be taken to stop leakages and misconduct,” he said after opening an EAIC event here today.
“Don’t assume that the EAIC is just to complicate matters, we actually do investigate allegations about them (enforcement officers accused of misconduct),” he told reporters.
EAIC is a federal statutory body set up under the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission Act 2009. - FMT
