Kempas candidate Faezuddin Puad says federal initiatives must translate into skills training and better-paying jobs for local residents.

The Johor PKR Youth chief said many Kempas residents come from B40 households and are seeking practical income opportunities to improve their livelihoods.
He said the JS-SEZ, expected to create thousands of jobs, must deliver tangible benefits to ordinary residents through skills training.
“If elected, I want to ensure the community benefits from opportunities created by initiatives such as the JS-SEZ, which is expected to create 24,000 well-paying, quality jobs,” he told FMT.

Faezuddin said Kempas residents could be equipped for these jobs through technical and vocational education and training (TVET), semiconductor training, artificial intelligence-related courses, and other technology-focused programmes.
Asked why voters should give PH a chance in Kempas, Faezuddin said the coalition had demonstrated its ability to govern at the federal level, and could bring the same experience to the state administration.
He cited the federal government’s economic performance, anti-corruption efforts and welfare initiatives, such as the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah, Sumbangan Asas Rahmah and the early schooling assistance programmes, as among its key achievements.
He said that if given the chance to form the Johor government, PH would prioritise prudent financial management and equitable economic growth.
Kempas will see a three-cornered contest involving Faezuddin, Barisan Nasional’s Ramlee Bohani, and Bersama’s Salamahafifi Yusnaieny.
Ramlee retained the seat for BN in the 2022 state election with a 3,514-vote majority over PH’s Napsiah Khamis. - FMT
