A PAS Youth leader has criticised Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for claiming that the Islamist party has deviated from its struggle and no longer treats Umno as an enemy.
PAS Youth vice-chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said party delegates at the recently-concluded muktamar had never stated their support for Umno or BN, except on specific issues.
"The speeches disagreeing with BN policies far outnumber criticisms aimed at your (Lim's) party," said Ahmad Fadhli in a statement today.
He said that only one delegate had described DAP as PAS' "enemy" during the muktamar, which was not the party's position. [Editor's note: There were in fact at least two delegates.]
In contrast, Lim had repeatedly said on public record that "a vote for PAS was akin to a vote for Umno", said Ahmad Fadhli.
He said that equating PAS with Umno by extension meant that DAP viewed PAS as their enemy.
"(DAP's) enmity towards Umno mean that PAS can't share a stage with Umno, although you (Lim) had been seen on the same dinner table with Umno.
"That is kosher to you and your allies," said Ahmad Fadhli.
He added that DAP was an "arrogant" party and would stab their friends in the back, and warned Pakatan Harapan allies to watch out for them.
According to Bernama yesterday, Lim's assessment of the PAS muktamar was that the party was "sesat" (lost) and could no longer tell friend from foe.- Mkini
