Coronavirus: Miri Hospital bans children, restricts adults from visiting patients

MIRI: The Miri Hospital has just imposed a ban prohibiting children aged 12 and below from visiting patients.
Adult visitors are also prohibited unless they have special permits to visit.
The Miri Hospital management issued a public notice on this around 3pm on Tuesday (Feb 11).
"Due to the strict precautions that we in the hospital are taking to handle the coronavirus infection, we are imposing restrictions on visits from the public.
"This is necessary due to our handling of patients-under-investigation in our facilities now.
"With immediate effect, children 12 years and below are barred from Level 1 (patient wards, surgery wards, intensive care units and the pharmacy).
"Adult visitors too are barred from Level 1 unless they have special permits to visit.
"The public must give full cooperation to the security units that will impose these rules.
"These restrictions take effect immediately now and will be in place until further notice," said the hospital in a media statement.
It is not mentioned how many patients-under-investigation are being warded in Miri Hospital now for the suspected coronavirus infection. - Star
