PETALING JAYA: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, has granted an audience to Anwar Ibrahim, the prime minister’s first since being sworn in last Thursday.
In a Facebook post, Istana Negara said the King and prime minister met at 5pm.
Anwar took his oath of office before Sultan Abdullah on Nov 24 at Istana Negara, after a political stalemate that lasted nearly a week following the results of the 15th general election.
Anwar leads a unity government comprising Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Gabungan Parti Sarawak and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, with support from MPs from Muda, Warisan, Parti Bangsa Malaysia, Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat and two independents. - FMT
