Expect delays on Kelana Jaya LRT line, commuters told

The delays follow a technical glitch with a train earlier, says RapidKL.

PETALING JAYA: Commuters have been advised to expect delays in train frequencies at several stations on the Kelana Jaya LRT line following a technical glitch with a train earlier.

In a Facebook post, RapidKL said the frequency of train services at several stations between Kerinchi and Ampang Park would be delayed to about 15 minutes after a train had to be taken out of service.

It said replacement trains would be operating shortly and timetables would be adjusted.

“Thank you for your patience and we apologise for the inconvenience caused,” said RapidKL.

Twitter user @notsoaidil questioned how many times the LRT line would be facing technical issues, causing delays to passengers’ travels.

“These issues are happening while it rains and during peak hours. Also, (e-hailing) prices are not affordable,” he lamented.

Another netizen, @syakirshukri, complained that he did not know if he would get to the Electric Train Service (ETS) on time for his train following the delays on the LRT line.

Earlier this month, 16 stations along the Kelana Jaya LRT line were shut down for about a week.

On Nov 11, then transport minister Wee Ka Siong said the problem was rectified after the modem and power supply for the tracks were replaced.

However, just a day after service was restored at the 16 stations, the Jelatek station started experiencing issues, causing delays for commuters.

The Jelatek station was not among the 16 stations that were shut down. - FMT
