Wild bear goes rolling on the road after being hit, netizens find it fascinating

As a road user, we may come across the occasional road kill, being a cat, dog or a rat. These critters are dime a thousand in the city state.

But when a video post on X features a bear rolling on the road in pain after being rammed by a car, expect the online audience to come rolling in too.

According to netizen #Updateinfo who shared the video, the bear was attempting to cross the East Coast Expressway, Kuantan.

White-painted pieces of a vehicle chassis could be seen on the ground, suggesting that the car that hit the bear had sustained damages too.

The comment section was filled with sympathy for the poor bear, while others have tagged Perhilitan to draw their attention.

Prompted by the tragedy, Netizen Hezeri Samsuri shared that he once saw a monkey being rammed. It lifted its hands up asking for help while its face was filled with pain.

eFJei found a funny bone in this video, asking the online community to imagine if the bear was the only child in the family.

Another netizen said no injuries could be sighted although it could be internal or something may have broken.

“For those people who make jokes in the comment, I hope this goes back to you,” said Izz.

Also, netizen awayusof suggested that animal crossings should be incorporated into the roads and  highways.

More than just a video post for human interest, the bear writhing on the road is also symbolic of the voiceless stakeholders who are affected by our every action.

The species of the bear has not been identified, but the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has listed the Malayan Sun Bear on the vulnerable list.

Hopefully, the poor creature gets the required treatment in an animal facility nearby and recovers quickly. But here comes the question. Why did the bear cross the road? – Focus Malaysia
