PETALING JAYA
Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman has been appointed the state’s 11th governor.

He succeeds Juhar Mahiruddin, whose term will conclude at the end of the month.

Musa’s letter of appointment was presented by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim at Istana Negara this afternoon, witnessed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Musa, who served as Sabah chief minister from 2003 to 2018, was previously said to be in the running for the post.

Others linked to the post included former Sabah chief minister Joseph Pairin Kitingan and former Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia.

Juhar, Sabah’s longest serving Yang di-Pertua Negeri, had served three four-year terms since Jan 1, 2011, with a two-year extension from last year. - FMT
