
BEIJING (Xinhua): An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted 128 km SE of Pondaguitan, Philippines at 1723 GMT on Saturday, the US Geological Survey said.
The epicentre, with a depth of 74.5 km, was initially determined to be at 5.62 degrees north latitude and 127.07 degrees east longitude.
The Philippines is in the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where volcanic activity and earthquakes are common. -- Xinhua
