PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his prayers and heartfelt wishes to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, expressing hope that the King will be blessed with continued strength and safeguarded under Allah SWT’s care and mercy. The message was shared on his official Facebook page.
In a statement, Istana Negara confirmed that His Majesty is experiencing musculoskeletal discomfort involving the back and hips. Doctors have recommended that the King scale back official engagements temporarily to focus on treatment and recuperation.
Meanwhile, authorities in Johor are probing the circulation of an artificial intelligence (AI) generated video that manipulated the King’s likeness and voice in an attempt to mislead the public.
Johor police chief Ab Rahaman Arsad said a police report was lodged after a TikTok user discovered a clip falsely depicting the King announcing financial aid. Initial investigations indicate that the TikTok account involved was likely created solely to disseminate the fabricated content.
He added that the video appeared designed to scam viewers while undermining the reputation of the royal institution. The case is currently being investigated under Section 420 read together with Section 511 of the Penal Code for attempted cheating, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for misuse of network facilities. —Focus Malaysia
