KUALA LUMPUR: Her Majesty the Queen of Malaysia, Raja Zarith Sofiah, graced the Tazkirah Ceremony and the Distribution of Bubur Lambuk at Istana Negara today in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's official Facebook page, she presented bubur lambuk to 500 palace staff members during the event.
Raja Zarith Sofiah also attended a religious talk (tazkirah) delivered by Professor Dr Sharifah Hayaati Syed Ismail Al-Qudsy from the Shariah, Economics and Governance Department at the Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, titled "If This Were the Last Ramadan."
The Queen expressed her appreciation for Sharifah Hayaati's gentle speaking style, noting that she had known the Johor native since around 2007.
Raja Zarith Sofiah also performed the Zuhur prayer in congregation at the main surau of Istana Negara and signed a book she had previously gifted to Sharifah Hayaati when the latter was preparing to further her studies in the United States in 2007.
