FORMER de facto law minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim is surprised by the ‘outburst’ of Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim against Bloomberg.

In a post on X today, Zaid writes that if Anwar is on a “short outburst of angst” against the news agency, it is then understandable. But a long-lasting war against the Jewish-led agency will be detrimental to him.

“It will not be helpful for him to go against them. Maybe a short outburst of angst for domestic consumption is understandable. But certainly not a prolonged war against Bloomberg.”

He began his post by referring to Neocons, whom he said had backed Anwar in the past, and how media like Bloomberg, which is Jewish-led, assisted him.

The Neocons officials were political figures who launched the Project for a New American Century which also included the overthrow of several regimes in the Middle East.

“I am somewhat surprised that Anwar has come down hard on Bloomberg. He was well taken care of by corporate America and the Neocons’ high officials in his younger days.”

“In fact, it was the American media’s assistance that led him to be known worldwide. Bloomberg is in the top echelons of Jewish power (politically and financially) in New York.”

Yesterday (Feb 27), Zaid went on another rant against Anwar’s government for going against ‘a housewife and her children’ for going against parliamentary democracy.

He was referring to the ex-finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin’s wife Toh Puan Na’imah Khalid, who is said to be under investigation by the local police.

“Only in this country will the police look for a housewife and her children to investigate possible charges for activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy. Sec 124 B Penal Code. What activities are involved?,” he asked.

“Engaging a PR firm to discredit the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the PM. How low can we go? How desperate is the government? How scared are you of your own shadow?”

Zaid went on to say that activities detrimental to PM and MACC are not the same as activities detrimental to democracy.

“See Hansard on why they’ve inserted this law. To insult, discredit and do whatever we want to bring Madani down by peaceful means is not a criminal offence.

“124B is meant to prevent insurrection or armed violence that would bring down the democratic government. It’s not to protect the PM from losing the next election,” he wrote.
