The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) announced that it will install CCTV cameras in Taman Persekutuan Bukit Kiara following a recent break-in involving Seputeh MP Teresa Kok’s car.
The installation works will take about a week and are expected to be completed by early March, DBKL said in a statement today.
“DBKL takes serious note of the incident and concerns raised by the public.
“The safety of city residents and park visitors has always been our priority in ensuring a secure and conducive public environment,” it added.
Earlier this week, Kok’s car was broken into while it was parked at a public car park in Bukit Kiara, where she had been jogging. Her car windows were smashed, and her handbag was reported stolen in the incident.

Following the DAP MP’s report, the Bukit Aman forensic team managed to recover three fingerprints from the vehicle, the New Straits Times reported.
The evidence has been sent to the Forensic Biometric Examination System (Biofis) for identification.
According to Brickfields deputy district police chief Ahmad Firdaus Mustaffa Kamal, the incident is believed to have taken place between 6.15pm and 7pm while the victim was exercising at the recreational park.
"When she finished exercising and returned to her car, she found the front left window smashed, and her handbag, containing documents, a mobile phone and cash, missing, resulting in losses worth RM6,500.
"We are tracking down the suspect and will take action once the suspect is apprehended," he was quoted as saying. - Mkini
