MACC on Friday filed an application in court for a forfeiture order for movable assets located outside Malaysia under the name of Prince Turki Abdullah Al-Saud.
According to a source, the application was filed under Sections 56(1), 59 and 61(2) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLATFPUAA 2001).
The assets comprise US$115.3 million (RM450.6 million) held in Swiss bank accounts, including with JP Morgan (Suisse) SA and UBS Switzerland AG.
“The move was made under legal provisions that allow the MACC to seek the forfeiture of assets believed to be proceeds of unlawful activities, subject to a court order,” he said.
MACC chief Azam Baki, when contacted, confirmed the application.
MACC No 2 to update on ex-minister’s case
On another matter, Azam said further clarifications regarding allegations of misappropriation of investments totalling RM1.11 billion linked to a former senior minister of a certain ministry will be made by MACC deputy chief commissioner Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya.

Azam said he has no updates regarding the investigation since the case has only recently been reported.
"My deputy will comment. Because this has just been reported, I have no updates about the matter… whether he has opened an investigation paper, who he wants to call up and so on. I don't want to comment on this,” he told a media conference after attending the opening of the “Kampung Angkat Madani” programme today.
The MACC recently confirmed receiving reports on the alleged misappropriation of investments totalling RM1.11 billion linked to a former senior minister lodged by several NGOs on Thursday (Feb 12).
Khusairi previously said that the MACC would scrutinise all reports received to determine whether there are any elements of corruption, misappropriation or abuse of power under the MACC Act 2009.
He said follow-up actions include examining the documents and evidence submitted before further investigation can be conducted in line with the commitment to integrity and transparency in the probe.
While Khusairi did not name the former senior minister, Rafizi Ramli himself revealed in a post on X that he was the person in question, calling it “empire strikes back”.
The Pandan lawmaker also said he was bracing himself for a potential MACC raid, based on sources in the agency who tipped him off.
