
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning, with heavy rain and strong winds expected in three states until 10am today.
In a statement today, MetMalaysia said the warning involves Pahang (Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin).
Similar conditions are also forecast in Johor (Mersing) and Sarawak (Kuching, Samarahan, Bintulu and Miri (Subis)).

MetMalaysia said the warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20 millimetres (mm) per hour that are imminent or expected to persist for more than one hour.
"A thunderstorm warning is a short-term alert that is valid for a period not exceeding six hours for each issuance," it said. - NST
