THAT seems to be the response from detractors to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who admonished the attitude of certain quarters who loudly criticise the Madani government without understanding the real challenges in governing a country.
This is given when strict action is taken against corruption cases involving big figures, notably former leaders or individuals with the titles Tun, Tan Sri and Datuk Seri, a wave of support will emerge to defend them.
“Out there merengek (whining) … you guys think it’s easy to govern a country?” was the one-liner Malaysiakini BM quoted PMX who was speaking at the Terengganu PKR Mini Convention in Kuala Terengganu on Monday night (April 14) in its Facebook post.
For a little more context, PMX who is also the PKR president added:
“I don’t deny that there are problems … This has to be done to combat corruption whether one is a Tun, Tan Sri, Datuk Seri. I won’t stop that.”
“I’m not the one who arrests, I’m not the one who investigates, I’m not the one who punishes. But in our system when the big guys get arrested, many become their pencacai (blindly support them), their fighters.”
But detractors who were captivated by the seemingly clickbait “Out there merengek (whining) … you guys think it’s easy to govern a country?” one-liner resorted to troll PMX by asking him “to resign if it has become unbearable for him to govern the country”.
The post itself has amassed 15K likes, 9.6K comments and 804 shares at the time of writing.
In fact, quite a number of them pointedly told PMX nobody had forced him to become PM in the first place or that at the very least, he has come to realise the hardship of administering the country when he was previously willing to do anything to assume the premiership,

Inevitably, many recounted the not so distant past when PMX in his capacity as the opposition leader was so eager or gung-ho to helm the country to the extent of claiming that “oil prices rose because the previous administrations were inapt in governing the country”.

Well, Madani critic Datuk Eric See-To to, too. seized the moment to take a pot shot at PMX that after “he has ticked of the rakyat as being buta huruf (illiterate) and not reading is himself now grousing about not easy to govern the country”.
“Suddenly I feel sympathetic for PMX. He gets insulted day in, day out even though he’s facing difficulties in governing the country,” jibed the former Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy strategic communications director.
