PRESSURE is building up on former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli for his criticism of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and its leadership.
This time, it is Johor PKR State Leadership Council (MPN) chairperson Datuk Seri Zaliha Mustafa who warned Rafizi that his “open statements” have the potential to affect the party’s internal harmony.
Zaliha said this in a joint statement with her deputy chairperson Md Ysahrudin Kusni.
The statement said if Rafizi’s goal is to strengthen the party, it would be better for all views to be channelled through the proper avenues so as not to give outsiders room to manipulate the situation.
“Johor PKR MPN also sees that this situation is no longer merely about the courage to speak out but can be misinterpreted as an action that negatively affects party stability
“Therefore, a more prudent approach is very much needed,” the statement said.
It also added that when former leaders continue to voice criticism openly, questions are raised among members. They will question the party’s direction and shared priorities.
“At the same time, Johor MPN wishes to emphasise that any action that could damage the party’s image must be handled wisely.
“Johor Keadilan remains committed to defending stability and ensuring the party continues to move forward in an orderly manner.”
Meanwhile, Melaka PKR views the continued actions of the Pandan MP in openly criticising the party as a potentially divisive move.
Melaka PKR deputy chairperson Mohd Khuzaire Mohd Kamal said it is no longer about differences in opinion.
The criticism has created negative perceptions of the party leadership, including its president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, according to him, adding that if the Pandan MP is no longer in line with the party, he must quit.
“The narrative presented is not only misleading but also creates negative perceptions of party leadership without a solid basis.
“This act is no longer just a difference of opinion but has crossed the line by bringing major implications for party stability and public confidence,” he said in a statement, adding that this situation is weakening the party.
“If he is no longer in line with the party’s struggle and principles, then the most dignified action is to resign and step down respectfully,” he said. — Focus Malaysia
