PETALING JAYA: Voters in Negri Sembilan will fulfill their democratic rights and civic duty in the 16th state election to elect their new representatives on Saturday (Aug 1).
A total of 859,760 registered voters, including 7,391 postal voters, will determine which coalition is given the mandate to govern Negri Sembilan, following a 14-day campaigning period that ended right at midnight last night.
The voting process will begin simultaneously at 8am across 401 polling centres statewide involving 1,668 streams, before closing at 6pm.

Retirees Ng Wee Chean, 71, and Kueh Siew Guat, 67, said they have never skipped an opportunity to vote whenever the time comes around.

9.20am: Nur Farah Arina Abdull Sitar, 28, came all the way back from Muar, Johor, just to vote today.
“I actually have plans back there, and am heading to Muar right now.
“It’s my second time voting, with the first during the 2023 state polls.
“The flow this time is extremely smooth,” said Nur Farah Arina who arrived with her father Abdul Sittar, 67.

9.10am: First-time voter Jean Wong,18, expressed excitement at being able to have a day at the ballot box.

9am: A quick stop before the ballot box. EC officers guided voters to their respective polling streams, ensuring they headed to the correct voting channels before casting their votes at Sekolah Kebangsaan Putra in Simpang Durian.
