Acting Sentul police chief Superintendent Jasni Zolpa confirmed that the suspect was arrested today.
"The suspect was arrested today. The Kuala Lumpur police chief will update the media on the arrest during tomorrow's event at the police headquarters tomorrow," he said when contacted.
The arrest comes more than a week after the Aug 9 attack, which left the woman with burns covering about 50 per cent of her body.
The victim, who worked as a counter attendant at the outlet, was allegedly approached by an unidentified man who doused her with liquid believed to be petrol before setting her alight.
She was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.
Following the attack, Kepong member of parliament Lim Lip Eng offered a RM5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the culprit.
He said the information on the incident at Taman Pusat Kepong must be credible and directly lead to the suspect's arrest.
Police are expected to reveal further details on the arrest and investigation at tomorrow's press conference. - NST
