Youth and sports minister Dr Taufiq Johari says the suggestion is aimed at boosting youth representation in Parliament.

Taufiq said the suggestion, aimed at boosting youth representation in Parliament, was among the three proposals mooted at the National Youth Consultative Meeting at the International Youth Centre in Cheras, here.
Currently, senators must be at least 30 years old.
The other proposals were to limit the terms an MP can serve consecutively and improving youth participation in the renewable energy sector.
“We already have responses from the relevant agencies and ministries. A Cabinet note will be tabled at the next Cabinet meeting,” he told reporters.
On a separate matter, Taufiq said his ministry would work on moulding more competent youth leaders, adding that he hoped to nurture future leaders. - FMT
