The Motorsports Association of Malaysia said the accident took place at turn 3 on the opening lap of the race at the Terengganu motor racing circuit.

The Motorsports Association of Malaysia said the incident involving the 18-year-old CKJ Racing rider occurred at Turn 3 during the opening lap of the race.
Farres Putra was given immediate medical attention at the circuit before being transferred to Hospital Nur Zahirah in Kuala Terengganu, where he was later pronounced dead.
The association said the circumstances surrounding the incident would be addressed in accordance with the applicable sporting and safety procedures.
In another accident yesterday, motor racer Khairi Asyraf Mahmood suffered a shoulder injury after an accident during a practice session, Astro Awani reported. Khairi continued to compete in the qualifying session after receiving treatment. - FMT
