Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Mohamed Hanipa Maidin was discharged from Putrajaya Hospital this evening.
Hanipa's aide confirmed to Malaysiakini that the Sepang MP was discharged at around 4pm.
Hanipa was yesterday warded for observation after he faintedduring Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's monthly address to civil servants.
He subsequently fell off the stage at the Prime Minister's Department.
Earlier today, Putrajaya Hospital in a statement said Hanipa had suffered a vasovagal attack.
A vasovagal attack, which causes a drop in heart rate and blood pressure, is the most common cause of fainting and can be triggered by, among others, heat exposure.
A vasovagal attack is harmless to person but the resulting fall could cause injury.
Putrajaya Hospital said Hanipa was healthy and in stable condition with no abnormalities observed.
"His blood pressure and cholesterol level are under control and he does not have diabetes.
"The deputy minister was discharged today and will have follow-up appointments with the relevant specialists," it said. - Mkini
