A number of Amanah Kelantan leaders are showing solidarity with former Salor assemblyperson Husam Musa for not having been given a post in the new Pakatan Harapan federal government.
Social media has been abound with comments asking why the state Harapan chief appears to have been left out.
Apam Putra state constituency's Harapan coordinator Mohd Hisyamuddin Ghazali said they are aware that this is hot topic not only on social media, but around the kampungs.
“It is clear Kelantanese society views the issue of an appointment for Husam seriously.
"To me, the appointment of Husam is something that Kelatanese eagerly await," he said on Facebook, calling for solidarity for the Amanah leader.
Amanah Pasir PutehYouth chief Mohd Sabri Salleh was more forceful, saying on Facebook he would quit the party if Husma is not given any.posts.
Malaysiakini understands Husam had been offered a deputy ministerial post at a certain ministry, but he had turned it down.
However, he appears to be unconcerned, telling Sinar Harian last week he had not given the matter of a senatorship or cabinet post any thought.
“Right now we should all give our focus to the Harapan government, which has a huge agenda to develop the country towards a new Malaysia,” he was reported as saying last Friday.
Amanah Kelantan Youth chief Hazmi Hassan said he has confidence in the wisdom of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to place Husam in a suitable post, especially for the benefit of the state.
“Many are asking about Husam's position after the14th general election. Many were sad when he was not named senator recently.
“However I am confident he is one who is sincere in the struggle. He is also someone who will not throw on the towel,” Hazmi told Malaysiakini when contacted. - Mkini
