‘ALL ARE INVITED TO JOIN BERSATU’ – MUHYIDDIN POUNCES AS UMNO, PAS FALTER AFTER JOINT RALLY FAILS TO DRAW EVEN 100K MALAYS DESPITE ALL-OUT HYPE, RACIAL & RELIGIOUS BAITING

BERSATU president Muhyiddin Yassin today reminded party leaders not to prevent anyone from coming aboard.
He said Bersatu needs more members to strengthen itself, as well as to better champion its agenda.
“We want more personalities, more members, more people prepared to contribute. There is still a long way to go on our journey. We are just 2 years old. Obviously, there are many things we should do,” he told reporters after opening the Johor Bersatu convention in Kulai.
Muhyiddin, who is also home minister, said Bersatu is an open party, and that it is unlike other outfits that have been found to practise “dirty politics”, leading to their loss in the 14th general election.
“Do not let division leaders curb the opening of branches out of fear of being opposed in the future. This is a dirty practice of other parties. They have done such things to avoid being challenged.”
He said there are more than 180 Bersatu branches in Johor, and he hopes the number will increase.
“Initially, I thought (180 branches) is a good number, as we were new. In the future, we hope the number will increase.”
Muhyiddin added that there is no credibility in allegations that there are quarters seeking to topple the Johor menteri besar.
“So far, in my view, the menteri besar has been doing his job. Regarding other menteri besar, there are many challenges as they are still new and have many matters to attend to.
“But to ensure politics in the state is stable, the menteri besar’s position should not be questioned.”
He was commenting on reports that Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim is unhappy that there are parties seeking to challenge the menteri besar.
On the Bersatu convention, Muhyiddin said he outlined Pakatan Harapan’s interest in having the Bumiputera agenda set in a new framework.
He said PH cannot cast aside the agenda whatever the situation may be, as many Malays still want an assurance on their future and the community’s special position in the country.
“They have yet to get a clear idea of our policies, so I do not feel hesitant about stressing that we should have the concept of shared or mutual prosperity, taking into account other interests.”
