WARTS & ALL – LONG LIVE TUN! FINAL DAY OF BERSATU’S ‘UMNO 3.0’ AGM KICKS OFF ON GRAND BUT SOMBRE MOOD AFTER DR MAHATHIR WARNS – ‘THIS COULD BE MY LAST BERSATU SPEECH’

PUTRAJAYA – The third and final day of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (Bersatu) annual general assembly commenced today with party chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad inspecting a ceremonial guard of honour at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), here.
The guard of honour was mounted by members of the party’s Wilayah Persekutuan Armada youth and Srikandi wings.
The Prime Minister, who arrived at 8.25am, inspected the 100 smartly-dressed delegates of the two movements.
Also present were Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and other top party leaders.

This Bersatu speech may be my last, says Dr Mahathir
IN an emotional parting message, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said his policy speech as Bersatu chairman may be his last.
He hoped that Malay-Muslims will use the new opportunity presented by the change in government in the 14th general election to finally break with the culture of the past and forge a new one.
Dr Mahathir, who is the longest serving prime minister, said at the end of the day, he did not care about what people said of him.
“Yes, I have been called a racist as I have talked about the fate of Malays and Bumiputeras. But I’ve been a witness to the downfall of my community,” Dr Mahathir said in the opening speech at Bersatu’s second annual general assembly in Putrajaya tonight.
Dr Mahathir got a standing ovation as he ended the speech which was repeatedly punctuated with shouts of ‘Hidup Tun’ (Long live Tun) from the delegates.
“I don’t care if my name is tarnished, as long as my community is aware of the terrible fate that awaits them in the future.
“Realise that we are the ones at fault. Don’t go blaming other people. Revival is within our grasp. What is needed is not that big, and God willing, we will be able to do it as long as we sacrifice.
“That is my message. The opportunity to deliver a speech like this may come again for me next year. But maybe not. As such we cannot let this opportunity pass. I hope that my community abandon the old culture and create a new culture. A culture that will save us.” — https://www.themalaysianinsight.com
