Amanah Youth delegate rips paper to show rakyat's disappointment

AMANAH AGM | Amanah Youth delegate Mohd Ammar Atan used only a piece of paper to show the rakyat's disappointment towards Pakatan Harapan's promises in the manifesto which have yet to materialise.

"Imagine if this is the Harapan book which we promised to the rakyat. How does the rakyat feel?

"They would crush this rakyat manifesto," he said while ripping apart the piece of paper he was holding as he gave his speech at the Amanah national convention in Ipoh today.

"That's how the rakyat feel when they see that we could not implement all the promises we have made," he said to the cheers of the hundreds in the hall.

Even though Amanah is now in the Pakatan Harapan government, Ammar stressed that the policies and promises in the manifesto cannot be forgotten but should always be prioritised.

However, he said he had full confidence in the Harapan leadership to implement these promises from the 14th general election.

"We are confident that with the leadership of (Prime Minister) Dr Mahathir Mohamad, his deputy, Abang Mat (Amanah president Mohamad Sabu) and other top leaders, the promises in the Harapan manifesto will be fulfilled.

"This is what we want because in the 15th general election, we will be judged based on our promises.

"At the same time, I urge the ministers and deputy ministers to propose a plan and policy on how we can implement (the manifesto) in the future, so the rakyat will not be disappointed, and I believe we need to explain to the rakyat, not attack them," he said. - Mkini
