Ambrin has been cooperative, says PAC chief

Former auditor-general Ambrin Buang (above) has been described as "cooperative" during his testimony to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that is probing allegations that the audit on 1MDB was tampered with.
PAC head Ronald Kiandee, however, said he was unable to reveal details of Ambrin's testimony at this stage.
"He was cooperative and a lot of his statements will help the PAC.
"We discussed the audit which (was allegedly) amended," he told reporters today at the Parliament complex.
Ambrin managed to evade reporters who were waiting near the hearing room. He will resume testifying at 2.30pm today.
On Nov 25, current auditor-general Madinah Mohamad had alleged that former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak had issued instructions to amend the department's audit on 1MDB.
Najib had ordered for the audit in March 2015. After the report was completed a year later, Najib made the document a state secret and later claimed that the PAC - which relied on the report - had cleared him of any wrongdoing with regards to 1MDB.
According to Madinah, who provided a detailed chronology of events, Najib had summoned several top civil servants, including Ambrin, on several occasions before the report was completed in April 2016.

During these meetings, Najib was alleged to have given instructions to expunge several paragraphs.
The "original" audit report had been handed over to the cabinet and the authorities last month. -Mkini
