KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reiterated that Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will remain as the Deputy Prime Minister until he takes over as prime minister.
The PKR president said the recent party congress had endorsed her as DPM and she would remain in the position.
“Of course that is the spirit of the agreement that she will remain until I take over,” Anwar said when asked if Wan Azizah would relinquish her post earlier.
Speaking to reporters when met at the Parliament lobby, here, today, Anwar who recently replaced Wan Azizah as PKR president, said that at this moment, she would continue to head the party’s advisory council.
Asked on the new PKR line-up at the national and state level, Anwar said he was also eager to have a discussion with everyone.
He said he would have to go to the states but was unable to do so just yet due to the Dewan Rakyat sitting.
Anwar made a return to the Dewan Rakyat recently when he was elected as Port Dickson MP following a by-election.
