Court orders ex-CEO of Tabung Haji associate firm to enter defence

The Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur today ordered a former chief executive officer of a Tabung Haji associate company - TH Heavy Engineering Bhd (THHE) - who was charged with five counts of criminal breach of trust and four counts of money laundering, to enter his defence.
Sessions judge Rozina Ayob said the prosecution has managed to prove a prima facie case against Nor Badli Munawir Mohamad Alias Latfi, 52.
Nor Badli, represented by lawyer Kitson Foong, told the court that he would testify under oath.
It was reported that Nor Badli was charged with five counts of criminal breach of trust totalling RM2.57 million, five years ago.
Nor Badli was charged with using his position as a CEO of TH Heavy Engineering Bhd to commit CBT involving five cheques for RM400,000, RM570,000, RM430,000, RM600,000 and RM575,800 each between April and October 2013.
He allegedly committed the offence at the office TH Heavy Engineering Fabricators Sdn Bhd at Level 23, Tower B, Menara UOA in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.
He also faces four separate charges of money laundering at the Shah Alam Sessions Court. However, the trial was conducted jointly in Kuala Lumpur.
Rozina fixed Feb 13 next year for Nor Badli to enter his defence. -Mkini
