Former attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali is among those due to be called up by the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) soon.
According to PAC chairperson Ronald Kiandee, the three other individuals expected to be called up, regarding the audit report on the 1MDB, are former 1MDB chief executive Arul Kanda Kandasamy, former MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad, and former chief secretary to the government Ali Hamsa.
Ronald said former auditor-general Ambrin Buang, who spoke to the PAC earlier today, is also expected to be called up again.
“Apart from these four persons, five to six other individuals will also be called for questioning,” he said.
“I don’t recall (their names). (Their names) were given to us, and they will be called.
“We are not going into the details of the 1MDB investigations. Just whether the (1MDB audit) report had been tampered with, or not,” he told reporters at the Parliament complex today.
Ronald (below), however, could not give a specific date the individuals mentioned would be summoned, saying Arul could be called “next year.”
“We (PAC) hope to summarise our probe before the next Parliament sitting.”
The PAC will interview the current auditor-general, Madinah Mohamad, and former director of the government’s audit sector, Saadatul Nafisah tomorrow.
This is in regards to the allegation by Madinah that former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak had issued instructions to amend the department's audit report on 1MDB. - Mkini
