PUTRAJAYA : Tan Sri Isa Samad is expected to be charged on Friday (Dec 14) over the purchase of a hotel in Kuching by Felda Investment Corporation.
The former Felda chairman is expected to face a slew of charges including criminal breach of trust.
Isa will meet Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigators, who will record his statement as final preparations before taking him to court.
Sources said Isa, who was a Barisan Nasional lawmaker for decades before contesting as independent in the recent Port Dickon by-election, was served with a notice on Wednesday (Dec 12).
He was asked to present himself at the MACC headquarters here on Thursday (Dec 13) and is expected to arrive around 11am.
It was recently reported that the MACC had wrapped up its probe into Felda’s 2014 purchase of the Merdeka Palace hotel in Kuching, Sarawak, and would recommend charges to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC).
The MACC also conducted investigations into FIC’s purchases of the Grand Plaza Kensington Hotel, London, and the Merdeka Palace Hotel and Suites in Kuching, which were said to have been made above their actual value.
