Bersatu secretary-general Marzuki Yahya has confirmed that former Umno secretary-general Radzi Sheikh Aman joined his party yesterday.
“Yes, I handed him his membership card yesterday,” Maruki told Malaysiakini when contacted today.
He said there was no ceremony to mark the occasion, but the membership card was handed to the former Kangar MP in Kuala Lumpur.
He said this when asked about reports circulating that Bersatu secretary Wan Saiful Wan Jan had accompanied him to hand over Radzi’s membership card.
Radzi was the de facto law minister in Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s cabinet, from 2004 to 2006, and was later home minister until 2008.
He was Kangar MP until the 13th general election, which he did not contest. - Mkini
